Home Reading Awards

Gallery Image

Over the last two weeks at our P-2 and year 3-4 assembly we acknowledged students in those year levels who have successfully completed 50, 100 or 150 nights of home reading.

These students have also demonstrated a great deal of commitment and organisational skills by recording all books that they have read and submitting those details on time each week as part of the homework expectations.  A huge congratulations to the following students:

Royal South Street Debating Competition

Last Tuesday, 4th August, eight students from Grades 5/6 represented our school at the Royal South Street Debating Competition. Our teams tackled two thought-provoking topics: "Mobile phones should be allowed in 5/6 classrooms" and "The book version is always better than the movie."

Both teams debated brilliantly and we couldn't be prouder of how far they've come. We're pleased to share that we secured a win on the day, though we narrowly missed out on a top four finish among the nine winning schools and won't be progressing to the final round.

A huge congratulations to our students for their dedication! They gave up countless lunchtimes to research, write, and prepare their arguments. Well done, debaters!
