Kinder to Year 10 Whole School Cross Country

We are excited to invite you to our very first Kinder to Year 10 Whole School Cross Country, taking place next Wednesday 20th May, 2026. 

This special event will bring our whole school together and is a wonderful opportunity to build community, show encouragement, and celebrate student participation and effort. 

The course will be held at DCS, with the races starting from 9:15am on the Don Oval, and each year level completing a course designed just for them.

To help your child have a great day, please ensure they:

• Wear their P.E. uniform (a house-coloured t-shirt may be worn instead)
• Bring:
  • Plenty of water
  • A healthy lunch

  • Spare clothes, shoes, and socks (just in case things get muddy!)

     

We warmly welcome all families to come along, enjoy the atmosphere and cheer on our students throughout the day.

Parent access to the Don Oval is available via:

• The Don Oval carpark, or

• The Secondary basketball court

   

The DCS Community have also organised food and beverage options for parents and Secondary students to purchase throughout the day, including Rory’s Hot Spuds, Small Brew Coffee Van, and Fetti’s Desserts. Details of pricing are listed below along with the schedule for the day.

Walk to School Day

This year, National Walk Safely to School Day is being held on Friday 22nd May. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to gather as the DCS Community with our families and friends.

We will be meeting at the Splash carpark ready to leave at 8am and walking to school together via the walking track.  

This event will be weather permitting. Families will be notified via Schoolbox and Facebook should we need to cancel.

We are looking forward to a great morning!

You're Invited! Coffee & Catch-Up Morning Tea

The DCS Community would love to welcome all our wonderful parents and grandparents for a relaxed coffee and chat on Friday 22nd May. Join us straight after Assembly at 9:00am in the Jiloa Centre. 

Come along for some light refreshments, a hot beverage, and great company. We look forward to sharing this special time of connection and community with you, it will truly be a blessing to have you there!

Secondary Athletics Carnival

Our Secondary Athletics Carnival will be held at the Penguin Athletic track on Thursday 28th May, and we couldn’t be more excited! Everything will be ready to go, and we are looking forward to a fantastic day filled with cheering, smiles, and celebrating the achievements of our wonderful Secondary students.

We warmly invite all parents, families, and friends to come along and join in the fun. Please bring a hat and a picnic rug, and settle in to enjoy the day.

DCS Community has organised the Small Brew Coffee Van to help keep staff and parents caffeinated throughout the day. All beverages from Small Brew will be complimentary for parents and staff. Secondary students are welcome to purchase drinks at their own expense.

We are also delighted to once again welcome Rory’s Hot Spuds food van, which will be on site serving meals and cold drinks for parents and staff throughout the day.

In addition, a small student canteen will be available, offering items such as Gatorade, lolly bags, and chocolate bars, with prices ranging from $2.00–$5.00. Both cash and EFTPOS payments will be accepted.

But wait, there's more....

Don’t tell the students… We’ve heard that some students might try to convince their parents to skip Secondary Athletics Day (because apparently parents don't attend secondary events...). But at DCS, we love having our parents involved and partnering with us to make school events special!

So, we’re adding a little extra incentive for parents to jump in on the fun

Come along, dress up in your House colours, and cheer loudly! The top three parents, family or friends who display the best DCS team spirit over the day will walk away with fuel voucher prizes:

• $100 for first place
• $75 for second place

• $50 for third place
