Year 3 News

Firstly, congratulations to all of our Year 3 students who took part in making the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is a very special milestone in their faith journey, and we are incredibly proud of the reverence, thoughtfulness, and maturity they showed throughout the process.

In the classroom, we have recently begun explicit cursive handwriting sessions, and the students have been working hard to develop correct letter formation and flow. There has been a strong focus on posture, pencil grip, and starting and finishing letters in the correct place. It has been wonderful to see the students showing persistence and pride in their work as they practise joining letters smoothly and consistently. Many students are already showing great improvement, and it’s fantastic to see their confidence growing as their handwriting becomes more fluent and legible.

In Mathematics, we have begun our unit on length. To launch our learning, students participated in a hands-on activity that they absolutely loved, exploring and measuring using centimetres and millimetres. They worked collaboratively to measure a variety of classroom objects, compare lengths, and record their findings. Over the coming week, we will continue to deepen this understanding through a range of engaging activities.

It has been a wonderful and productive start to the term, and we look forward to continuing our learning journey together.
