Leading Teacher Report

Welcome back to Term 4! It has been fantastic to see students return ready for another busy and productive term. With the weather warming up and the days getting longer, it is hard to believe we are already heading towards the end of the year. It feels like we blinked and went from Term 1 to sunscreen season!

Our Year 12 students are entering the final weeks of classes before their exams, and it has been great to see them working hard, staying focused and making the most of their remaining time with teachers. We wish them all the best as they prepare for this important milestone and encourage them to finish the year strongly.

Our Year 9 students have also been making a fantastic contribution to the wider community through their community projects. Students have been volunteering at a range of local organisations and locations, demonstrating initiative, responsibility and a genuine willingness to give back. They have represented both themselves and Maffra Secondary College exceptionally well, and we are proud of the positive impact they are making in our community.

Across the school, we have continued our focus on improving student wellbeing and engagement. A key part of this work has been the implementation of consistent classroom entry routines, helping students settle quickly and providing a calm, orderly and purposeful start to each lesson. These routines support a positive learning environment where students can feel settled, know what is expected and get straight into learning.

As we look ahead to the remainder of Term 4, we look forward to building on this positive start, celebrating student achievements and finishing the year with a strong sense of connection, pride and purpose.

Thank you to our students, staff and families for your continued support. We look forward to a great term ahead!
