Junior and Senior School Tours
Many thanks to Allegria Strings and Faure Flutes for performing during Junior and Senior School Tours this week. Your time and talent are greatly valued, and you provided an excellent showcase of what Clayfield College has to offer.
Year 1 and 2 Junior Musicianship Club
Commencing Monday afternoons 2 March | 3:15 to 4:00pm | Junior Music Classroom
This free class, based on the Kodály approach and aligned with the Australian Curriculum, offers Year 1 and 2 students a structured and creative way to develop their musicianship skills. Through singing, movement, improvisation, and instrumental techniques, students will deepen their understanding of music in an engaging and age-appropriate setting.
At the end of each term, families will be invited to an open lesson to share in their child’s learning journey.
To enrol, please contact the Music Department at music@clayfield.qld.edu.au
Message from the Uniform Shop - Opus Concert Uniforms
This message is for any students who are required to wear music uniforms as part of the following concerts:
- Opus 1 on 6 May
- Opus 2 on 14 May
Girls are requested to come in and try on uniforms, prior to 6 March, to allow enough time for stock to be ordered (eight weeks lead-time).
Boys requiring uniforms must purchase a long sleeve black shirt with a collar (Kmart, Lowes or Big W) and deliver it to the Uniform Shop for embroidery. Please note that embroidery can take up to two weeks.
Irish Dancers
Congratulations to our Irish Dancers who proudly represented Clayfield College at their very first Irish Dancing competition and Grade Examinations. The Grade exams are officially registered with An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG), marking an important milestone in their Irish dancing journey. A special congratulations to Arden Zhu, Ririko So, Harriet Slaughter and Bianca Russo for their courage, commitment and outstanding effort. We are so proud of the way you embraced this opportunity with confidence and resilience.
We look forward to them showcasing their talents at our Harmony Day assembly.
Musical
Please mark your calendars for the Clayfield College Musical, taking place on Friday 6 March and Saturday 7 March. This production showcases the incredible talent and commitment of our students and staff, and we look forward to sharing it with our community.
But before you hop, skip or tumble down the rabbit hole into our Alice in Wonderland musical, pop into the Foundation Courtyard for a wonderfully curious P&F Pre-Event.
Expect a little touch of mischief and a whole lot of Wonderland charm. The bar will be serving the magical Mad Hatter’s Blue Brew, along with bubbles, wine, beer and soft drinks for every thirsty traveller. There will be delicious cheese boxes for the grown-ups and tasty treats for our smaller adventurers, tempting enough for the Cheshire Cat to appear.
Come early and start your journey with a topsy turvy taste of Wonderland before the show begins. We hope to see you there for a wonderfully mad time.
A reminder to students and families of the Musical rehearsal schedule is provided below.
