A Place of Belonging

It has been another busy week in boarding with our Prep Program in full swing, summer and autumn sport, Year 11 Semi-Formal preparations and final QG Swimming Championship preparations for next Wednesday. Good luck to all students involved, we are very proud of you and will be there to support you.

Friends of Boarder Parent Group Co-ordinator

The Clayfield College Parents & Friends Association (P&F) is an active community that supports the College through fundraising and social initiatives. Under its umbrella are four support groups: Friends of Sport, Primary School, Music, and Boarder Parents.

The P&F President, Rae Morris, welcomes parents to join any of these groups. Meetings are held once a month on Tuesday evenings during term time.

I am pleased to advise that the Friends of Boarder Parent Group Co‑ordinator for 2026 is Hannah Madill from the Sunshine Coast. Hannah invites current and new boarder parents to the first meeting for the year, to be held on Tuesday 24 March at 7:00pm. A Zoom link will be distributed the week prior.

I would also like to sincerely thank Kylee Easton for her dedicated service as Co‑ordinator over many years.

I look forward to meeting with boarder parents to discuss fundraising opportunities and event planning for 2026. Should you have any boarding‑related matters, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association

The Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association Queensland (ICPA Qld) is a voluntary, apolitical, not-for-profit organisation representing more than 1,200 member families across 45 branches throughout Queensland.

ICPA Qld is currently seeking assistance to gather information that will help inform their understanding of the travel needs and circumstances of Queensland boarding school students. As part of their ongoing advocacy for rural and remote education, the State Council is working with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads to better understand how regional and rural families access education facilities, particularly through regional aviation services.

This work aims to clarify the role of aviation in supporting regional connectivity, accessibility and economic development, including how rural and remote families access boarding schools.

Queensland Boarding Parents are asked to read the accompanying letter, which includes a brief survey. ICPA Qld would appreciate your support in forwarding this information. The deadline for responses is Friday 27 February.
