Boarding Bulletin

A Place of Belonging
On Wednesday morning, we farewelled our Year 7 and 8 boarders as they set off for camp. We are looking forward to welcoming them back home on Friday afternoon.
Our Year 12 boarders looked absolutely stunning at the Formal last Saturday evening, held at the Water’s Edge Portside. With the excitement of the event behind us, we can now settle into study and assessment.
Leave Arrangements
A reminder that all boarders wishing to go on weekend leave must have their requests in by Wednesday night for parents and hosts to approve on Thursday morning, with final approval completed by Thursday afternoon.
Afternoon walks to parks and the Term are still permitted without needing prior leave arrangement.
When organising leave for your child, please note that all boarders are due back no later than 10:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights.
Each boarder is required to have a Go Card for public transport for recreation activities where boarding transport is not available.
End of Term 1
The Boarding House will officially close for Term 1 at 4:00pm on Thursday 2 April. No students can remain in the Boarding House after this time. Students can depart after 3:15pm on Wednesday 1 April.
Airport transfers will be available from 3:30pm on Wednesday 1 April through to 4:00pm Thursday 2 April.
Term 2 Commencement
Students may return to the Boarding House from Monday 20 April as school commences on Tuesday 21 April.
Airport collections are available only on Boarder Travel Day, Monday 20 April, including late night international arrivals. If your child requires transport outside this date, families will need to arrange alternative transport.
A copy of your child's flight itinerary for end of Term 1 and beginning of Term 2 travel is required for the organisation of airport transfers.
Please complete the Leave Arrangements 2026 form if you are collecting your child or require airport transfers and send to boarding@clayfield.qld.edu.au with the collection and return dates and times.
If your child is departing early in Term 1 or arriving late for Term 2, prior College approval is required before you make travel arrangements. Please complete the Application for Extended Leave form and email to absences@clayfield.qld.edu.au if your child will miss more than three school days.
Boarding Events and Celebrations
Last Thursday evening, Henderson House hosted the first themed dinner of the year, celebrating Pal'entine’s Day. Boarders enjoyed gift chocolates and notes of appreciation from their peers.
Our first cultural event of the year was held on Tuesday evening to celebrate Lunar New Year - the Year of the Fire Horse. Thank you to Year 12 international students Sherry, Nora and Alexa for organising this event, which included an amazing Asian cuisine menu and chocolate money bags.
Although rain interrupted our outings last weekend, Ms Holman and the weekend staff organised plenty of fun activities in-house to keep the boarders entertained. Cupcake baking and arts and crafts proved most popular.
This weekend’s activities include:
Friday 20 February | BBI Basketball QGSSSA Swimming Meet Night Swim at the School Pool 6:30pm to 7:45pm |
