Principals' Weekly Update

Dear Armadale Community,

Hoping you are all well and coping with this late wintry blast. We did have some sunshine earlier which we hope will last for our fabulous Father's Day event which is on this afternoon.

Thank you again to Andrea and her fabulous Grade 5 parent helpers for making this happen.

Staffing updates for next week

We wish Angela Sozzi a lovely long service leave break next week and we will have replacement teachers in for Italian on Monday and library the rest of the week. Ruby Cohen will be taking a week's holiday with her family, escaping to warmer weather, and Prep R will be taught by Anne Ryan for the week. Anne is a regular replacement teacher and is known to the children. Amy Nicholl is travelling to New Zealand next week and 3/4N will be taught by Connor, who has also been to our school frequently and is known to the 3/4 team. Amy will return first week back in Term 4 and then a new teacher who has been recommended to us will teach Year 3/4 N for the remainder of the year as Amy will continue her travels. I know this may seem quite messy, but teachers work incredibly hard all year, they are entitled to take leave and we don't want to just be putting anyone in front of the classes whom we haven't thoroughly researched.

Congratulations to all the children who represented the school at the District Athletics Carnival yesterday.

From all accounts it was a highly successful day and the following children have made it through to the next level  - The Division Athletics  - in the following events:

Vaska - 200m

Erin - 1500m

Alexis, Indi, Bella, Stella - 12-13 girl's relay

Erin - long jump

Miraya - discus

Julius - 1500m

Josh - triple jump

Dean - discus

All the very best to these students and we can't wait to hear how you have gone.

Year 5/6 Touch Rugby Gala Day

Good luck to all of our Year 5/6 students tomorrow at your gala day. We hope you enjoy yourselves and continue to demonstrate all those sportsmanship behaviours demonstrated to you by Jenny, Luca and Katie.

Friday 19th September is the last day of the term and the school will be dismissed at 2.30pm.

Please join us on the last day of term for our Footy Colours Day where we will have a parade in the morning from 9.15am and then our Final Assembly for the term which will start at 1.45pm and conclude at 2.30pm. Looking forwad to seeing all our parents who can join us then.
