We were thrilled to share that our AFL 9s girls team progressed to the State Competition after their outstanding performance at the recent Northern Metropolitan Regional Finals!
The team competed with incredible determination and teamwork at La Trobe University in Bundoora today.
In Game Three, they continued their strong form with a 38–26 victory over Ballarat and Clarendon Primary.
Their strong skills, sportsmanship, and unity on the field were evident throughout the day and were a credit to themselves and to our school community.
In the grand final, the girls gave it their all against a strong Geelong College team but ultimately went down 27–11. Despite the loss, their effort, resilience, and team spirit remained unwavering.
We were so proud of their achievements and the way they represented our school with pride throughout the competition. Well done, girls!
We wish all our students representing St John’s at the District Athletics Carnival at Meadowglen Athletics Track on Monday 1 September the very best of luck. We know you will give your best effort on the day. May you enjoy the experience, support one another, and celebrate the opportunity to share your talents with our wider community.
