On Friday, 15 August, we gathered together to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption, a special day which honours the Blessed Virgin Mary and the unique favour God bestowed upon her.
Thank you to Fr Vinh for leading us in this holy day and to our students who joined in beautifully in response and song. A special mention to Mrs Buttifant who helped prepare the students with the hymns.
Also, thank you to the families who came along to the Mass and to others who helped their child/ren in providing a flower for the class bouquet. The floral display was amazing!
This September, Elizabeth Whiting, our Deputy Principal, will embark on a special Catholic immersion pilgrimage to Ireland—a journey designed to deepen her understanding of our Catholic Mission and Identity. Set within the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Ireland, the pilgrimage will explore the legacy of Irish saints and religious orders whose vision and commitment have profoundly shaped Catholic education in Melbourne.
Each day of the pilgrimage will begin in prayer and include opportunities for reflection, learning, and visits to significant spiritual and historical sites—including Glendalough, Kilkenny, Knock Shrine, and Kylemore Abbey. The regular celebration of Mass throughout the journey will further ground this experience in faith.
As Elizabeth prepares for this sacred journey, we warmly invite all students, staff, and families to contribute personal prayers or intentions by placing them in our Prayer Box, located at the front office.
These prayers will be respectfully carried on pilgrimage, held in our hearts, and offered during times of prayer and Eucharist at sacred sites throughout Ireland. This is a meaningful way for our school community to be spiritually united in this journey, even from afar.
Thank you for journeying with us in prayer and faith.
