Book Week 2025

Book Week 2025 - Book An Adventure

Monday, 18 August

This year, we celebrated Book Week on Monday, 18 August. The theme, “Book an Adventure,” invited students to dress in costumes inspired by journeys, quests, and exploration—or simply as their favourite book characters. Our school was filled with excitement and colour as we celebrated Book Week, resulting in a vibrant day of creativity and imagination.

The day began with our much-loved Book Week parade on the bottom yard. Parents, grandparents, and special guests gathered to admire the students' creative costumes, inspired by their favourite book characters. There was a wonderful sense of community as proud families watched the children parade with big smiles and even bigger imaginations.

Following the parade, grandparents and special visitors were welcomed into classrooms to take part in a fun Book Week activity alongside their grandchildren. Laughter and storytelling filled the rooms during this special session.

Afterwards, the PIC hosted a lovely morning tea in the Hall, offering a chance for grandparents to connect and share in the spirit of the day. We thank the PIC for hosting morning tea and providing the grandparents with a special gift, including a prayer of thanks for grandparents. The morning’s festivities for the special guests wrapped up at 11:00 a.m.

The celebration for students didn’t stop there. Students spent the rest of the day immersed in Book Week activities designed to spark their love of reading.

They explored the books short-listed for this year’s awards, many of which are on display in the Library. There was great excitement about borrowing them in the coming days.

A special highlight was a visit from guest illustrator Anne Spudvilas, who captivated students with a demonstration on how to create stunning charcoal drawings. Her artwork—and the students' inspired creations—will be later showcased in our Art Show.

The day concluded with a joyful assembly on the top yard, where we celebrated the students’ imaginative costumes and characters.

We congratulate the following students for being voted by their peers as wearing the most creative costumes using the Learning Power of CREATIVITY. Theirimaginative costume choice captured the spirit of Book Week and inspired others through your creative expression. Well dome to:
