Collecting Children During the Day

If you need to collect your child early, please notify the office in advance so we can have them ready for you. Schools are busy places, and it can take time to locate students, particularly if they are in specialist classes or other learning areas.

To minimise disruptions, please avoid collections during:

• Play 1: 10:58 - 11:28

• Play 2: 1:14 - 1:44

During these times, children may not hear PA announcements, and buildings are locked for safety, making it difficult to collect belongings.

Assembly

Our Term 1 Assemblies will take place on the following dates:

Monday the 16th of March at 9.05am.

Monday the 30th of March at 9.05am.

E-Scooters

As mentioned in a compass post this week, we have recently noticed a small number of students arriving at school with electric scooters. We would like to remind families that electric scooters are not permitted to be brought to school.

According to Victoria Police, there are strict rules around the use of e-scooters. Riders must be at least 16 years old, wear a helmet, and follow road rules including riding on shared-use paths or certain roads rather than footpaths.

As our students are under the age of 16, they are not legally allowed to ride e-scooters, which is why they should not be brought to school.

Students are still welcome to bring bikes, non-electric scooters or skateboards to school where appropriate, provided they follow school expectations and wear helmets.

Harmony Week

Harmony Week - Cultural Dress Day Thursday 19th March 2026

SRC News – Harmony Week is Coming! There will be lots of fun activities too!

The Student Representative Council (SRC and community members can’t wait to host Harmony Week next week at KPS! Harmony Week will take place from 16th–20th March, and it is a special time for our school to celebrate the many different cultures, languages and backgrounds that make our community so wonderful.

At Keelonith Primary School, we believe that everyone belongs, and Harmony Week is a great reminder to celebrate and respect each other.

To help celebrate, we invite all to take part in Cultural Dress Day on Thursday 19th March. Students can wear their cultural clothing or add a splash of orange to their school uniform. This might be something simple like an orange t-shirt, ribbon, hair tie, shoelaces or another orange accessory. Please remember this is not a casual clothes day.

Why wear Orange? Orange is the official colour of Harmony Week. It represents respect, inclusion, and belonging for everyone.

Throughout the week, we have organised some fun optional lunchtime activities, including sporting games and craft activities to help celebrate diversity and bring students together. Classes will also take part in Harmony Week activities with their mentor classes.

We are very excited to celebrate Harmony Week with our KPS community and can’t wait to see everyone getting involved!
