Junior School Council

Dear Parents & Guardians,
Our school prides itself on supporting the wider community. As we approach the festive season, we are reminded that while many of us are preparing to celebrate, others are facing hardship.
This year, we are holding two initiatives to support families in need - a food drive and new toy collection.
Foothills Community Care
Foothills Community Care is a not-for-profit organisation, providing support to those in need in the Knox, Dandenong Ranges and surrounding foothills areas. Their aim, with our help, is to create food hampers for families in need this Christmas. For more information, please visit https://www.foothillscare.org.au/
How You Can Help Foothills Community Care (see attached Reverse Advent Calendar)
- Home Hamper - Grab a box at home and decorate it in a Christmas theme. Then each day, instead of receiving a daily treat, add an item to the box instead. Home hampers can be delivered to Junior School Council representatives at the Homestead Drive gate on Wednesday 3rd December between 8:45-9:10am.
- Individual Donations - On any day throughout the calendar, students can bring items to school and place them in their classroom collection.
Closing date: Wednesday 3rd December
Note: Food items must be non-perishable. We are unable to accept donations at the office due to lack of space.
Share Space
Share Space is a family-run food relief and community support charity located in Rowville. There are currently 63 children on their toy wish list, along with gifts needed for children who will spend Christmas in emergency relief. For more information, please visit https://sharespace.org.au/
How You Can Help Share Space
- Toy donations - Place a wrapped gift (between $10-$20) for a child up to 16 years under our Christmas tree in the office foyer. Please include a tag indicating the age range & preferred gender.
Toy donations will be accepted from Monday 10th November - Monday 8th December
Every contribution, no matter how small, can bring comfort and joy to a child or family in need.
Thank you for your support,
Junior School Council
