Sustainabilty - Gardening - Ms Belinda

SUSTAINABILITY NEWS

I was so proud to accompany our three Sustainability Captains plus seven other students to the CERES Student Leadership Summit yesterday. Their passion, knowledge, and motivation was an inspiration to all of us. Prior to attending, the students completed audits of our school, looking at Waste, Energy, Water and Biodiversity. It was great to work alongside other schools and share ideas to help look after our environment. Over the next couple of weeks, they will share some of the highlights during our Friday assemblies. We will include more about our fabulous learning next newsletter also.

A few short reflections:

Lucas: Sustainability is a really important thing and it should be valued. It helps you, it helps the world and it is fun too!”

Solomon: I learned about how you can recycle some things but others can’t be recycled but can be reused in other ways.

Toby: I learned that AI is not good for nature because it uses millions of litres of water.”

Please watch our video for our other reflections!

Gardening Club

What is in our garden beds near the library? While it looks like NOTHING much is growing, our junior students have been lovingly planting bluebell bulbs and tiny flower seeds, which will make a glorious display of colour soon!

Please help water our garden!

Our gardens near the library would love more water if any parent is able to help. Even a few drink bottles after school when it hasn’t rained that day would be super helpful!

Trinity Trash Transformers

Please keep saing your 10 cent recyclable bottles and cans for us. They can be given to your child’s teacher. Every week our TTT team collect and tally up all of our cans. So far we have raised over $120!

Well done, Compost Ninjas

Well done to our Compost Ninja team who collect our food scraps every day and feed them to the worms. By doing this, we save so much waste from going to landfill, helping to reduce methane gas, and therefore global warming. It is so good to know we are doing such a good job of saving our food scraps and turning them into great compost for our gardens!

Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!
