Visual Art - Ms Denise

During term 2, the Trinity Visual Arts program has been buzzing with creativity and excitement. We have embarked on a variety of 2 and 3 dimensional projects designed to inspire students artistic expression and skills.
PREP
Prep students are learning to make a variety of paper techniques including cylinders, cones, pleats, tabs, fringes, spirals and curls that will further develop their fine motor skills. The combination of paper techniques will be formed into a paper roller coaster. This project will not only enhance their artistic skills but also teach them about shapes and structures.

YEAR 1 & 2
Year 1 and 2 students have been focusing on the skill of print making. The main project will be designing and creating patterned images using foam printing. The process involves designing patterns and carefully etching the designs on the foam and then using a variety of inks and coloured papers to print multiple images. The classes will also experiment with other forms of print making including monoprinting and leaf printing.
YEAR 1 & 2 PHOTOS & PRINT MAKING
YEAR 3 & 4
Year 3 and 4 students are designing and creating their dream room using a variety of 2D and 3D materials. The dream room is being constructed in a triorama shape and includes art on the walls as well as a view of a chosen landscape from the window. Miniature items are being created to decorate the dream room including furniture, mirrors, lamps, plants and rugs. Students will view their original design closely and compare it to the final construction of the space they have created.
YEAR 5 & 6
Year 5 and 6 students are completing a three dimensional construction project, choosing either wire construction or papier mache. Students will draw a design or choose a character they would like to create. The papier mache group will commence by building an armature with newspaper and a variety of cardboard shapes connected with masking tape. The papier mache process of applying paste and small squares of paper will then commence. The wire construction group will use two types of wire of varied thickness to make a model of their choice. Pliers will be used to assist with bending the wire and connect pieces together to build the wire construction.
