Junior School Update

Foundation D Find Their Feet
Our Foundation students have completed their very first week of school with Miss Dorian, and what an exciting milestone it has been! The newest members of our school community have taken their first steps into the world of schooling, exploring their classroom, making new friends, and beginning to learn the routines that will shape their school days ahead.
One of the biggest highlights of any child's life - their first day of school!
Miss Dorian and our Education Support team have welcomed the class with warmth and enthusiasm, creating a nurturing environment where our Foundation students can feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. From discovering where to hang their bags to navigating the playground, these little learners have shown wonderful curiosity so far!
A highlight of the week has been exploring specialist classes. Students have fully embraced the creativity of Art class with Mrs Rooney, discovered the joy of Music with Mrs Chmiel, got active in PE with Mr Taylor, and begun their reading journey in Library with Miss Bate. These specialist sessions have added variety and excitement to their first school experiences.
It's been wonderful to see their smiling faces each morning and watch their confidence grow day by day. We're so proud of how well they've adapted to this big change and look forward to watching them flourish throughout the year.
Junior House Leaders Announced
In week 1, a group of Year 6 students stepped forward to present their case for a 2026 House Leader position, delivering an impressive showcase of confidence and public speaking skills. Students across the Junior School gathered in their house groups to listen attentively as each nominee shared thoughtful, well-prepared speeches outlining why they would be well suited to the role.
The quality of the speeches was outstanding, with students demonstrating clarity, purpose and a strong sense of leadership. Presenting in front of peers is no small task, and all students who participated should be extremely proud of their efforts.
Congratulations to the eight students who were selected as House Leaders for 2026. We look forward to seeing the positive impact you will have as role models and representatives of our school community.
