Year 5 Transition Program

Our Year 5 students recently met at Gannons Park, excited and ready for an action-packed day. Upon arrival at Georges River College Peakhurst, the students enjoyed a guided tour of the school, setting the tone for their transition experience. Throughout the day, students engaged enthusiastically and behaved wonderfully as they participated in a range of activities across Science, History, and Japanese, with each group enjoying two activities.
In Science, students learned how firemen stay safe by discovering the secrets of their protective clothing. In Japanese, they practised writing some letters and explored traditional calligraphy using ink. History sessions immersed students in Ancient Egypt, including lessons on mummification.
It was a fantastic day that gave Year 5 a taste of the exciting learning opportunities as they prepare for high school. We were very proud of their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the visit.
