Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
This term, the Year 5/6 students have been exploring Topic 3: Self-Talk as part of our Respectful Relationships program.
This week, Team Clohesy explored what self-talk is and the positive and negative impacts self-talk can have on our mental health and wellbeing.
Throughout the lesson, students explored a variety of scenarios, where they could collaborate and act out the impacts of positive or negative self-talk and how this could either support students to find solutions to their challenges, or instead, make them fall deeper into their bigger emotions.
Team Clohesy students love any opportunity for role play, and had a really wonderful discussion about how self-talk presents for them.
1/2 Students have been working hard to demonstrate our School Values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience, and their efforts have certainly paid off! We have focused on Resilience this week, as we discussed what it looks like to share our play spaces.
This term, students have earned some exciting whole-class rewards, including a Pyjama Day, Casual Clothes Day, and Prank the Principal! 1/2 Edwards had a fantastic time carrying out their prank. Our class had quietly disappeared, leaving our classroom completely empty! After searching high and low and wondering where everyone had gone, Mr Trezise was left scratching his head before discovering us in Mrs Clohesy's room. There were plenty of laughs all around!
We are so proud of the way our students continue to earn these rewards by making positive choices every day!
