SAPSASA Netball Carnival
On Tuesday 12th May, sixteen Uraidla Primary School students participated in the SAPSASA Netball Carnival at the Woodside Courts. This year, the event featured a new round-robin format, allowing each team to play multiple games throughout the day. For the first time, we were proud to enter both a competitive team and a participation team.
Our Participation Team—comprising Gus, Lila, Imogen, Alyssa, Olivia, Lilly, Louise, and Kimberly—demonstrated great teamwork and determination, competing strongly across five games. Their positive attitude and sportsmanship were evident throughout the day.
The Statewide Competitive School Team included Ruby, Layla, Maddi, Tilly, Mabel, Shae, Klara, and Jemima. This team displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, remaining undefeated and not conceding a single goal in any of their five matches. As a result, they have progressed to the next round of the competition, which will be held later this year. Congratulations to all players for their excellent effort and achievement.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mignon Johansen, Hayley Moulds, Jo Cox, Jodi Braley, and Emily Brodie Tyrell for their invaluable support in coaching, umpiring, driving, and assisting on the day. These opportunities would not be possible without your dedication.
Well done to everyone involved!
District Cross Country Championships
On Tuesday, 19th May, eight students from Uraidla Primary School proudly represented our school at the District Cross Country Championships held at the Woodside Recreation Grounds. Students were required to participate in a trial prior to selection. Athletes born in 2016 ran a 2km course, while those born in 2015/2014 competed over 3km.
All of our students demonstrated exceptional effort and sportsmanship, embodying the school values throughout the day. Their commitment to training and outstanding perseverance during their races are highly commendable.
Every participant finished within the top 20 for their age group, a remarkable achievement. Furthermore, congratulations to two of our students who have qualified to represent the Hills District at the State Cross Country Day.
Results:
- Tyler Fletcher — 16th, 10YO Boys
- Eddie Rogers — 8th, 10YO Boys
- Kobe Sloan — 4th, 11YO Boys
- Jemima Staniford — 2nd, 11YO Girls

- Layla Moulds — 13th, 12YO Girls
- Ruby Cox — 11th, 12YO Girls

During the day, schools were allocated team points for their top three competitors in each age group. We are delighted to announce that our 12-year-old girls' team placed 2nd overall in the Hills District—an outstanding result.
Congratulations to all our competitors on their achievements and the way they represented Uraidla Primary School.
