National Sorry Day
As many of you would be aware, National Sorry Day is an annual day of remembrance held on May 26 across Australia to
acknowledge the profound trauma, grief, and loss caused by the forcible removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, known as the Stolen Generations.
We are very fortunate to have 'Aunty Ros' Cameron coming to visit our students on National Sorry Day next week, to tell them the moving story of being taken from her mum at birth. Ros is a Northern and Eastern Arrernte woman who lives and works in the Adelaide Hills. She has been very generous in telling her story as a Stolen Generations survivor, which you can watch here: Aunty Ros
We will be celebrating National Reconciliation Week all of next week, culminating in a full day of Reconciliation activities in cross-age groups on Thursday, and the Colour Run on Friday afternoon. It should be a wonderful week of learning and celebration!

We'd like to sincerely thank the Grosset Gaia Foundation for funding our school's participation in the Nunga Screen as part of Reconciliation Week. Nunga Screen is an annual film program that showcases short films by First Nations filmmakers and features a mix of animation, documentaries, and scripted drama (see this year's trailer here). Teachers will be showing these short films throughout National Reconciliation Week.

Walk Safely to School and Wheels Day
Students participated enthusiastically in Walk Safely to School Day last week, as well as Wheels Day the previous week. It is always a pleasure to share opportunities for exercise with children and also to witness the positive energy that comes from connecting with our beautiful natural surroundings. These events not only promote physical activity, but also encourage healthy habits and foster a sense of community within our school.
