Grade 3/4/5

This term so far, students have been working hard across all learning areas and have enjoyed exploring a range of exciting topics.
In English, we have been learning about the soft c and soft g sounds and practising how to identify and use words containing these letter patterns. Students have also been learning how to expand their sentences by adding more detail and information to make their writing more interesting. We have been focusing on writing factual recounts and have explored a variety of topics, including learning that some dogs can be difficult to train and investigating the history and significance of the Aboriginal Flag.
In Mathematics, students have completed their unit on measurement. Throughout this unit, they developed their understanding of length, area, and perimeter through hands-on activities and problem-solving tasks. It was fantastic to see students applying their learning in real-world situations.
In Humanities, we have been learning about Indigenous culture and the important ways Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples care for Country. Students have explored the deep connection Indigenous Australians have with the land and the sustainable practices they have used for thousands of years. We have also begun learning about the First Fleet and the impact its arrival had on Australia’s history.
We are very proud of the effort students have shown this term and look forward to continuing our learning journey together.
