Senior Secondary (ASDAN)
Welcome back to our final term, Term 4 and the busiest but fun one of the year 😊
We started the first week with a Welcome Back Assembly where Anthony and Helena reminded us all of our Responsibilities at home, at school and in the Community. They showed us the Calendar of events this term; which include Diwali, Remembrance Day, Melbourne Cup, Graduation and the all-important Concert in the Courtyard to name a few.
All the students in ASDAN have returned to their; Work Experience, Travel Training, Community Access and Project activities. This Term our Project is to plan and participate in a special event. Our event will be a celebration lunch for all the ASDAN classes. Each class will be responsible for a section of the project; 11/12 E will be working on setting up, music and activities, 11/12D designing and decorating and 11/12C the menu and cooking. Students will brainstorm ideas and participate in making them happen. Watch this space for pictures of the end result later in the term.
11/12C also started their new Work Experience placement at Sunshine hospital, which is only a walk away. Students have to Plan and Organise themselves for the day by loading the hand trolley with the equipment they will need. Demonstrate Teamwork by working together on the shared task of renovating an outdoor area for patients to use. Communication is very important and students have been working on what to do if there is a problem, who they can talk to and what to say.
Check in each day and ask your child, ‘what was the best thing about today?
