Foundation (Prep)
Prep have been loving the Spring theme so far this term! We have set up a florist role play area in each classroom, where we are practising our money skills with pretend transactions, making a choice between objects and choosing and matching flowers. Our Preps love this area of the room!
Furthermore, Prep have been exploring the garden! We have looked at all the plants, flower and fruits. We have been reading, ‘The Tiny Seed,’ by Eric Carle and even planted our own tiny seeds. We can’t wait to watch them grow into beautiful flowers.
We have also been learning how to keep ourselves safe in the sun. We have been practising dressing teddy, putting on sunscreen and our sun hats. On very sunny days, we have practised playing in the shade, such as choosing a story to read under the canopy.
Prep have a busy few weeks to come with our Foundation Late Night, School Swimming and Reptile Incursion! We are very excited for all of our events.
Foundation (Year 1-2)
1/2D are doing incredible learning this term! We are exploring animals and learning new vocabulary through our book, ‘Mog at the Zoo’. We have continued our work blending sounds together to sound out words so we can read with greater independence. In Numeracy we are going shopping in our classroom Flower Shop. Students have been developing their identity in our Independent Learning subjects. We are looking forward to swimming and have been learning all about pool safety through our Dry Swim program. Our 1/2D students are excited for our Late-Night incursion next week. Well done 1/2D!
Lower Primary (Years 3-4)
The 3/4 team is having a fantastic time together at Jackson. We have been learning about money, saving and spending as well as practicing shopping in class. Our other highlight has been learning about living and non-living things. Walking around school to identify things that are living and non-living, then starting to explore what living things need.
