Reasons for Joining School Council at Jackson School

Being a member of School Council is a rewarding way to contribute to the school community and support positive outcomes for students. School Council provides an opportunity for parents and carers to have a voice in the school's direction and decision-making processes, while also gaining a better understanding of what is happening within the school.

Having served on School Council for the past six years, I have witnessed many significant improvements and developments across Jackson School. During this time, I have seen the transformation of the old Prep area into the modern learning spaces we see today, the establishment of the Middle School building and playground, upgrades to the library, the creation of the café area, and the refurbishment of classrooms in both the Senior School and Administration buildings. It has been rewarding to be part of a team that has supported and contributed to these positive changes for our students and school community.

As the carer of a Year 11 student, my time on School Council will come to an end in March 2028. I would like to encourage members of the Jackson School community to consider joining School Council. Your ideas, experiences, and perspectives are valuable, and your input would be greatly appreciated as we continue to support the growth and success of Jackson School for future students and families.

Key Benefits of Joining School Council

  • Contributing to decisions that benefit students and the wider school community.
  • Gaining a better understanding of school operations, priorities, and future plans.
  • Building stronger connections between parents, carers, staff, and the school community.
  • Having a voice in shaping the future direction of Jackson School.

Your involvement can make a meaningful difference.
