Parents' voice

Well done everyone!

This week on behalf of the school’s parents, gifts were given to the School’s leadership team, specialist teachers, wellness support team and administration staff to thank them for their dedication and support of our students this year.  Thank you to all of the parent contributions that funded these well received gifts. 

 

What a busy year! In 2023, the Parent’s Committee ran more events that ever with the support of our wonderful volunteers:

  1. Welcome to School 2023 Afternoon Tea
  2. Weekly Friday Treats now supported by electronic payments!
  3. Voice Referendum BBQ & cake sale
  4. More 2nd hand uniform sales
  5. Arts Festival food trucks
  6. Bastille Day crepe sale
  7. Garage Sale & Student stalls
  8. Mother’s & Father’s day stalls and breakfasts
  9. Diwali Festival
  10. World Cup Match Screenings
  11. End of Year Party….with a Bar and the largest slide ever
  12. Prep 2024 Welcome Morning Tea
  13. Silent Auction and Raffle in collaboration with efm

 

We are still finalizing the accounts from the End of Year Party & Silent Auction so we will announce our profits in 2024 - the good news is we estimate we made the largest profit we have made in several years from this event. Thank you again to our partners and sponsors efm, HIP, TeamKids, Engie, Decathlon and Stomping Ground.

 

Some of the PC’s long term volunteers will leave the school at the end of this year. We would particularly like to acknowledge and thank Valeria Green, Mat Thompson and Kate Bransford:

  1. Valeria has contributed to the School for more than a decade running the Challah sales, 2nd hand uniform shop and both the mother’s and father’s day stalls.
  2. Mat Thompson was the PC President for several years and the go-to organizer, mentor and supporter of the PC for all of his time at CJC. Many of the wonderful events we run at the school were established and perfected by Mat.
  3. Kate Bransford has been an Administrator of the CJC Families Facebook group for several years and always turns up to lend a hand when needed.

 

Looking ahead, in 2024 we plan to run many of the same events that we did in 2023. We would also like to run a school disco night (bringing back the 80’s school disco vibes) and an Africa Day – if you would like to coordinate these events please let us know.  We are also looking for some new 2nd hand Uniform helpers and we have some interested parents who would like to establish a CJC Parent Gardening Team. If this is something you would like to be part of please let us know at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com  Dates for 2024 PC Meetings and event dates will be published in the newsletter early next year.

 

The Parent’s Committee wishes everyone a happy summer break and a Happy Channukah and a Merry Christmas to all the families celebrating.
