CLYDE ROAD UPGRADE: TRAFFIC CLOSURE NOW IN EFFECT

The Clyde Road infrastructure upgrade project is now underway, with significant traffic changes currently affecting local commuters.

The Warragul-bound entry ramp to the Princes Freeway from Clyde Road is now closed through to late November 2025 – a closure period of approximately 3.5 months.

What's happening?

This extended closure is necessary to facilitate major upgrade works along the Clyde Road corridor, which forms part of a broader infrastructure improvement initiative designed to enhance traffic flow, safety, and road capacity in the region.

Current detour routes:

Drivers are currently being redirected via:

  • O'Shea Road
  • Princes Highway

Traffic management systems are in place to guide motorists along these alternative routes, however delays of up to 15 minutes are being experienced during peak travel periods.

Planning your journey:

If you have not already adjusted your travel plans, we strongly recommend allowing additional travel time, particularly during morning and evening peak hours. Consider leaving earlier for essential trips and stay updated on current traffic conditions through local traffic apps and road authority updates.

What to expect:

As drivers become familiar with the detour routes over the coming weeks, traffic flow should gradually improve. However, some delays should be expected throughout the closure period, especially during peak times.

The upgrade works are part of our commitment to improving local transport infrastructure for the long term. We appreciate the community's patience during this essential improvement period.
