REMINDER: Tertiary institution Open Days wrapping up in early September

Attending Open Day events is highly recommended for Year 12 students planning to undertake tertiary study. They provide unique and valuable opportunities to explore tertiary course options and their graduate outcomes, learn more about courses of interest from academics and current tertiary students, whilst checking out the tertiary institution's facilities and services.

Any student considering tertiary study in the next few years is encouraged to attend Open days – they are a great investment of your time and preparing beforehand will see you benefit the most from your Open day experience.

See the below document for a list of 2025 Open days and advice on Getting the most out of an Open Day.

REMINDER: VTAC Application Information for Parents & Carers of current Yr12 students

Nossal’s Year 12 students have now received two information sessions about applying for courses, Equity schemes (SEAS) and Scholarships through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). They have also been given resources, instructions, and walkthrough videos to guide them in completing their VTAC applications. All this information is available to Year 12 students in the Class of 2025 Careers channel on Teams.

Important steps for Yr12 students to do:

  1. Submit at least one course preference in their VTAC account.
  2. Pay the VTAC application fee ($80 for timely applications).
  3. Access to the SEAS & Scholarships application in their VTAC account is only after they have submitted a course application and made payment.

VTAC application deadlines:

  • 5 September: Upload supporting documents for the SEAS & Scholarships application so VTAC can review them, identify any issues and allow time to resubmit if needed.
  • 8 September: Last day to request from school staff a statement of support for their SEAS & Scholarships application.
  • 29 September: Final day to pay VTAC application fee of $80 (late fee $160–$200).
  • 10 October (5pm): Equity Schemes (SEAS) & Scholarships applications close.
  • 13 December (12 noon): Change of Preference closes for first round offers (some courses close earlier on 29 September).

Why students must act promptly:

SEAS & Scholarships applications take time to complete, and most categories require supporting documents to be organised well before the closing date. Students should start their application in their VTAC account as soon as possible and follow VTAC’s instructions carefully.

RMIT Early Offer program applications close 14 September

Is your Year 12 student a leader in the community, good at problem-solving, a creative thinker or perhaps good at communicating? Through RMIT’s Early Offer program your life experience outside the classroom can count towards your dream course, allowing you to be accepted on a lower ATAR and receive a conditional offer before your final exams.

Interested students are to carefully read all info provided by RMIT here taking note of the important dates, list of early offer courses, and step-by-step guide to applying.

Applications close 14 September 2025. Conditional offers will be released on 24 September 2025. The conditional offer becomes an official offer if the early offer ATAR required and course prerequisites are met. Students must also list the RMIT early offer course to their VTAC course application.

ACU Guarantee (early offer program) applications close 15 September

ACU Guarantee is an early offer program designed to help Year 12 students secure a place at ACU before sitting their final exams. While successful applicants must still complete their Year 12 exams, they can do so secure in the knowledge that your marks from Year 11 meet the entry requirements. Students may also enhance their entry score by including short personal statements that give ACU an insight into their personal circumstances and motivation for university study.

Interested students can find out more at Applying to the ACU guarantee and by visiting these Application FAQs and watching this webinar recording. Victorian students will need to complete and upload this Supplementary Assessment Form as part of the application process. Applications close 15 September 2025. Offers are made in rounds and check these offer FAQs for deadlines. Students must also list the ACU early offer course in their VTAC course application.
