Principal's Report

Thank you Warrandyte Lions Club
Students returned from the long weekend to an exciting new addition to our school—a brand-new Traffic Safety Bike Course running proudly up the front entrance to the courtyard. Their smiles said it all as they arrived to see the freshly painted track beaming up at them. This fantastic new resource will be used as part of our Bike Ed program, incorporated into our Kinder transition sessions, and available for our community to enjoy outside of school hours. A huge thank you to the Warrandyte Lions Club for funding this incredible project. The next stage will see the installation of mini shopfronts along the side of the track, creating an engaging and immersive streetscape for our young riders. We hope to commence this final piece in the coming weeks!
We are pleased to introduce and welcome our 2025 ACPS School Council, a dedicated group of parents and staff committed to making our school the best it can be. It is wonderful to have a mix of returning and new members, and I am incredibly grateful for the time and energy they give to support our school. A special welcome to Myles Gaffney, who has taken on the role of ACPS School Council President. I look forward to working closely with Myles and the entire School Council team as we continue to enhance our learning spaces, programs, and opportunities for all ACPS students.

Our Grade 6 students recently participated in a First Aid Course run by Cool Kids First Aid. This invaluable program equipped students with essential skills, including CPR and how to respond in an emergency situation. We are incredibly grateful to Warrandyte Neighbourhood House for providing this opportunity. It’s fantastic to see our students learning practical life skills that they can carry with them beyond the classroom
NAPLAN – A Big Well Done to Our Grade 3 and 5 Students
Over the past fortnight, our Grade 3 and 5 students participated in NAPLAN assessments. We are incredibly proud of the way they approached these tests—with focus, resilience, and a positive attitude. While NAPLAN provides a snapshot of student learning, we use this data alongside our own school-based assessments to inform our teaching and ensure we are providing the best support for every student. A big well done to all involved!
Looking Ahead
With so much energy and enthusiasm already in Term 1, we are excited for the learning and experiences still to come. We have the following community events coming up and would love your support and participation.
25th March - School Photos
29th March - Warrandyte Festival: We would love to get as many families as possible participating in the Saturday Morning Parade @ 10am. The Seussical Cast will perform on the Main Stage at 12:00pm.
We would also love your help in running our ACPS Food Stall. This is a major fundraiser for ACPS but does take many hands to help it run smoothly. Please add your name here if you can help: Warrandyte Festival Roster
3rd April - Hot Cross Bun Day: Individual and packs of Hot Cross Buns can be purc hased via QKR to be available for this day.
4th April - ACPS Harmony Day Colour Run: We will be finishing our last day of Term by celebrating Harmony Day and holding our annual Colour Run between 1 - 2:30pm. We would love parents to come along and join us by watching or helping out at a colour or water station to cover our students in coloured powder as they make their way through our obstacle course. Save the date with more info to come.
Thank you to our staff, students, and families for your ongoing support in making ACPS such a wonderful place to learn and grow
Have a wonderful weekend!
