Christmas Giving

FIRE Carriers Christmas Market Stall at St Margaret Mary’s School Brunswick North.

As a part of our connecting communities program on December 1 between 3pm and 7pm the Academy FIRE Carriers will be hosting a stall at St Margaret Mary’s School, Brunswick North. Principal Daniel Ryan welcomes all members of the Academy community to attend the market.

Our stall will be selling handmade Christmas decorations, indigenous designed tea towels, native plant seeds, jewelry, homewares painted by indigenous artists, baked goods and more!

The FIRE Carriers will be raising funds for the Opening The Doors Foundation to directly support the education costs for a First Nations Student. This is our commitment as a FIRE Carrier School.

Donations welcome - If anyone in our community would like to donate some craft items that they make for the FIRE Carriers to sell, we would be greatly appreciative. Donations can be left at the school reception.

St Mary’s House of Welcome Christmas Hamper donations

The Academy community is contributing to the festive Christmas hampers our neighbours, St Mary’s House of Welcome create for people in our local area. St Mary’s House of Welcome is a not-for-profit open access centre in Brunswick Street Fitzroy providing basic essential services to people who are homeless and experiencing poverty, severe and persistent mental health issues, and those who are extremely isolated and socially marginalised. St Mary’s House of Welcome staff ask that none of the products contain alcohol as this can sometimes slip into commercial Christmas cakes/puddings/mince tarts. Students can bring these donations to the Academy library each morning until school finishes for 2023.
