Dear Members of the Academy Community,
The end of the year is fast approaching but we have much to look forward to including the VCE Orientation week which is the week commencing 20 November, the end of year Assembly on 22 November and College Mass on 28 November and, of course, the Celebration of Excellence evening on 4 December.
Our final end of year Assembly will provide another opportunity to recognise student achievement, in particular the students of the term whose profiles can be found in the next newsletter. We also look forward to recognising other students at the Celebration of Excellence in early December.
Yesterday we formally farewelled our Year 12 class of 2023 at the Graduation evening held at the San Remo Ballroom in Carlton North. This is only the second time we have had our graduation at this venue and it is proving to be a very popular venue. Our Year 12 students and their families had a wonderful evening and our Year 12 students were acknowledged as strong and resilient students who survived Covid in their Year 9 & 10 years and the post Covid period during their VCE years.
Our guest speaker, Emily Lynch, Year 12 2013, reflected on her journey post Academy and encouraged girls to seize opportunities as they arose. Career choices evolve and life does not always continue on the trajectory that one believes it will.
Last Tuesday evening the Year 7 2024 parent information evening also took place. We were delighted to see so many families present. The evening began with members of the Concert Band playing Danny Boy. There were a number of presentations and our 2024 Co Captains, Leah Freeman and Sinitta McCarthy, also spoke announcing the 2024 College theme to all gathered (the theme is still a secret and will be formally announced at the College Assembly next week).
Parents who attended the Year 7 evening also seized the opportunity to visit the Annual Arts Exhibition - an extraordinary exhibition showcasing our Year 7 - 12 talented students who created their artwork via a number of mediums. I thank our Visual Arts staff who are so able to draw out and enhance the talents of our students.
While the year is coming to a close the business of everyday school life does not abate and there is still much to do and to look forward to during the remaining 3 weeks.
Every blessing,

and , as we go forth today, we pray that our mercy values are lived in all our actions.
May we continue to follow in the footsteps of our foundress’:
