DEPUTY PRINCIPAL, Learning & Teaching

Dear Parents /Guardians,

I hope you are well and you have been able to join us in celebrating the wonderful learning that is happening at the College. We had the annual Art Exhibition where we saw the immense and varied talents of our students under the tutelage of the Visual Art Department and the showcase of our Year 7 – 11 Musicians and the Year 7 Music students. It is great to see that each and every student is celebrated in the Art Exhibition, at the Year 7 Music Breakfast and the Year 7 – 11 Music Evening from beginners to our most talented, congratulations to all students. Thank you to all the Visual Arts Team and Performing Arts Team for their support and development of all the students.

We look forward to celebrating more students in our end of term assembly and at the Celebration of Excellence Evening.

Last week Sadie Marques, Amelie Nashar, Wyn Raphael and Amelie Sutton from 9 Melba shared their Synergy Learning Presentation - "How  AI is beneficial to Education."  This is an area that has exploded this year, not only in education and it was wonderful to hear the students’ perspectives on how it can be used. They also taught us the anatomy of a good prompt; give the bot a role, give yourself a role, give the bot a goal and give an output format.

Finally, as we approach the last day of examinations, I would like to congratulate our Year 10 and 11 students for their approach to these examinations.   Whatever the result, they are an invaluable learning experience for all.  Thank you, too, to our staff for their work to prepare students, supervise and mark examinations at this busy time of year. Next week they begin their VCE Orientation Program and more information will be shared with students and parents about this.

While our students from Years 7 – 9 did not participate in examinations, their final weeks at the College are busy with end of semester assessments.

I wish all students and families well in the last few weeks of term

Ms Lucy Neil
