As we reflect on 2024, it’s impossible not to celebrate all the incredible achievements and opportunities that have shaped our school community this year. Students have participated in a wide range of activities that not only enhanced their learning experiences but also showcased their talents and creativity, resulting in some truly fantastic outcomes.
From Art Shows to Maths Competitions, sporting events, performances, and various excursions, students have pushed the boundaries of what is possible. One of the highlights of the year was undoubtedly the vibrant production of Matilda Jr., where performers, crew, and supporters came together to deliver an unforgettable experience.
Walking around the school, we are constantly inspired by the potential and dedication of our young people. It has also been heartening to witness the enthusiasm for lunchtime clubs and leadership opportunities, including participation in the Student Representative Council (SRC) and Peer Support programs.
Innovative student-led initiatives like the End of Year Raffle, charity Sausage Sizzles and Be Your Own Boss stalls brought an entrepreneurial flair to the school. These events showcased the creativity and resourcefulness of our student with many teachers and students digging into wallets and bags to support these ventures!
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to two key members of our school community.
On behalf of the subschools, we extend a special thank you to Shirley Barker for the incredible work she has done with our students with disabilities. Her dedication and passion have made a lasting impact, and we wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.
A huge thank you also goes to Darry Forbes, our long-serving Junior Subschool Leader, for his 12 years of unwavering leadership and support. While we will miss his role in the Junior Subschool, we are excited to collaborate with him as he takes on his new position as Community Partnerships Leader in 2025.
As the year comes to a close, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all students, staff, and families for your hard work, commitment, and support. Congratulations on a successful year!
We wish everyone a safe and joyful festive season and a relaxing January break. Here’s to another exciting year ahead in 2025, filled with even more opportunities to grow, learn, and succeed together.
