From Evie

Boy time flies when you are having fun!! Can you believe that we are nearing the end of week 3 of this final term of 2026?
Parent Feedback Sessions
Thank you to the families who have been able to meet with me this past week for feedback sessions. I have appreciated the honesty and passion with which these conversations have taken place. I have been humbled and challenged - which has given me a chance to both celebrate and reflect.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are seeking volunteers with skill sets that support the ongoing governance of our school in the following areas:
School Board
- We are seeking people with skills in Human Resources, Risk, Law, Business, Finance and General Governance.
As a School Board, we meet monthly on a Tuesday evening.
FRAC (Finance, Risk, Audit) Committee
- The skills we are seeking are in Risk, Law, Business or Finance.
- The FRAC committee meets termly on a Monday afternoon.
Education and Care Sub-Committee
We welcome parents of ELC or OSHC children who have the following knowledge or a desire to do so:
- Understanding of the Education & Care National Regulations.
- This team supports heavily with policy review.
- Having experience at an Education & Care site may also be helpful.
- The Education and Care Sub-Committee meet termly, early evening currently on a Tuesday.
If you have the time, passion and expertise – we would like to hear from you! Please reach out to Michelle at michelle.storie@gspv.sa.edu.au – she will send you an application form which includes a skills matrix. If your skill set compliments those we currently have in our teams, you may be invited to have a conversation with myself and our School Chair.
I pray that if this speaks to you, you will reach out.
Life at School
As l mentioned last fortnight, the end of a school year brings the start of farewells. Mrs Alison Pearse will be leaving after 9 years of service and Mrs Janet Braunack will be retiring from her Co-Educator role after 16 years of service to the Good Shepherd students, staff and families. Mrs Mirsini Plagakis will also be moving on to a role at Kings and we pray for a blessing over her last weeks here. Please pray for these ladies as they continue to serve with passion for this term and into the transition time.
The Magic Faraway Tree - I loved reading these stories to my own children as well as to the children that I have taught across the country. Full of fun, silliness and laughter, I look forward to inviting you to a screening of this next Friday for our community pop-up movie night!
Thank you for your commitment to Good Shepherd and I look forward to what this term brings in learning, relationships and life.
Many Blessings,
Evie
