The Arts: Out and About at SJRC

There has been a tremendous buzz around campus lately, with numerous opportunities for students to showcase their talents and express themselves through the Arts.

What is Busking?

Busking is the practice of performing music in public places for voluntary donations, but at SJRC, we offer applause and encouragement instead.

Busking Day now occurs every Thursday at lunchtime, just outside SPAC (or in the CLC if the weather isn't kind). It's a fantastic opportunity for students to step up and try performing—whether singing, playing keyboard, or percussion. Mr Diab will be on hand to offer support, and everyone is welcome to participate or cheer from the crowd.

Our first Busking Day was a great success! Students from all year levels participated, including Year 7 students who sang and played the drums, accompanied by others on the congas. A large, enthusiastic audience gathered to clap and cheer their friends on in a safe, supportive space.

The next Busking Day will be held on Thursday, 22nd May. Don't miss it!

Lunchtime Art Club: Mother's Day Edition

Here are a few photos from our recent lunchtime Art Club activity celebrating Mother's Day.

We had a fantastic turnout—mostly Year 12 students, and it was especially lovely to see some of the boys join in too! While we didn't capture every card on camera, many were truly beautiful and heartfelt.

All in all, it was a fun and creative lunchtime.

A big thank you to Grace and Mrs Misso for helping make the event a success, and special thanks to Sophie Farrell for joining the fun.

To all the mums in our community, we hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Art Club runs every Friday at lunchtime in the CLC. It offers a variety of creative activities. Come along, bring a friend, and get involved!
