Sports Canteens – Final Home Round for the Semester
This Saturday, 29 August, Marist hosts St Edmund’s College for Round 5, with Tennis, Basketball and Rugby League fixtures across the College.
This is the final home round for the semester, which means it is also the last opportunity this semester to volunteer for the sports canteens. The Grandstand and Gym canteens will be open to support players, families and visitors throughout the day.
The canteens are an important part of home sport at Marist and they rely on parent volunteers to operate. If you are at the College supporting your son, please consider signing up for a shift. Even one hour makes a real difference and helps keep these much-valued services available throughout the day.
Grab a friend, make it a catch-up and help finish the semester’s home rounds strongly.
Students can also volunteer through the Mates program. Years 11 and 12 students may volunteer independently, while Years 5 to 10 students can volunteer alongside a parent or guardian. Students must wear their school uniform and register their hours using the QR code available at the canteen at the end of their shift.

Grandparents Day
Marist Grandparents Day – Thursday, 17 September 2026
Grandparents Day is another of Marist’s best traditions, bringing together students and grandparents for a special day of connection, celebration and community. Each year, we welcome approximately 600 grandparents to the College for a wonderful concert followed by morning tea.
The P&F is seeking volunteers to help make the day a success.
Assistance is needed from 9:00am to 9:45am to welcome and assist grandparents with seating prior to the concert.
Additional volunteers are required from 10:10am to help set up and serve morning tea, prepare and serve tea and coffee, keep a watchful eye on the refreshments from the local crows, and assist with pack-up and clean-up afterwards. We expect to be finished by approximately 12:00pm.
Whether you can assist for a short time or stay for the morning, your support helps create a welcoming and memorable experience for our grandparents and families.
