Upcoming Intersection Works on Jumping Creek Road

Manningham Council have shared the below information regarding detours in place with traffic management measures.

Edward Road and Paynes Road Roundabout Construction

Current Traffic Conditions

The intersection of Edward Road and Paynes Road is currently closed to through traffic while the new roundabout is being constructed.

The full closure commenced on 10 August 2026 and will remain in place until 25 September 2026, or earlier if works are completed ahead of schedule.

During this period:

• Vehicles cannot travel through the intersection.
• Signed detour routes are in place for motorists travelling through the area.
• Local access to properties and businesses within and adjacent to the works area is being maintained.
• Increased traffic volumes will occur on surrounding roads and designated detour routes.
• Nearby residents and businesses will experience increased construction activity, construction vehicle movements, noise and dust associated with the works.

• Access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the works and emergency vehicles will continue to be able to travel through the intersection when required.

   

The full closure enables critical roundabout works to be completed safely and efficiently while significantly reducing the overall construction timeframe. By carrying out the works under a full closure, the intersection is expected to reopen approximately 10 weeks earlier than would have been possible under a staged construction approach.

Council and the contractor are continuing to work closely with residents, businesses and key stakeholders throughout the closure period to minimise disruption wherever possible. Traffic conditions will be monitored regularly and adjustments made where practicable to support the safe and efficient movement of road users.
