United Nations Model German Conference – North Melbourne, Tuesday 14th July

Three teams from Oberon High School participated in the German Model Conference debating the topic “Combating Climate Change: Committing to Global Action”. 

The VCE students were fully immersed in the German language for the day and interacted with about 100 students from various high schools.

Well done to the students below who worked hard to prepare Position Statements and to learn the complex vocabulary:

Representing Canada – Zac Van Parreren, Joyce Woukep Kwopnang

Representing Japan - Manon Guijt, Josie Carriedo, Ruby Bridge, Ruby Edwards

German Sister School exchange update

• A reminder to families to pay the additional costs for flights and insurance for the rescheduled German trip by Tuesday 4 August. You will have received an email with some additional updates during the past week.

   

•  German exchange group will arrive at Oberon HS during the September school holidays – on Grand Final Day.

   

• One spot is available for an Oberon student in Years 9, 10 or 11 to join the trip to Germany – if interested please see Frau Ray asap.

SAGSE German Scholarship Interview

Well done to Year 12 student Aliyah Tapster who was invited to interview for a prestigious SAGSE scholarship. Aliyah travelled to Melbourne last Saturday and Sunday for the interview process. Congratulations and good luck, Aliyah!
