AFTER SCHOOL BUS STOP BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS

Respectful and responsible behaviour at bus stops

AFTER SCHOOL BUS STOP BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS

We have recently received reports of inappropriate behaviour by some students at local bus stops after school. While students may have left the school grounds, they are still representing our school and are expected to uphold our values  of Resilience, Compassion, Success and Citizenship and behavioural expectations while travelling home.

Respectful and responsible behaviour at bus stops helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, community members, bus drivers, and local residents. Students should:

  • Follow instructions from bus drivers and supervising staff.
  • Treat fellow passengers, members of the public, and local residents with respect.
  • Refrain from rough play, pushing, wrestling, or other unsafe behaviour.
  • Use appropriate language and maintain respectful interactions with others.
  • Respect public and private property, including bus shelters and nearby homes and businesses.
  • Keep bus stop areas clean by disposing of rubbish appropriately.
  • Wait patiently and safely for buses to arrive.

Families are encouraged to discuss these expectations with their children and reinforce the importance of making positive choices after school. By working together, we can help ensure that bus stops remain safe, respectful, and welcoming spaces for all students and community members. We appreciate the ongoing support of families in encouraging students to represent themselves and our school positively while travelling to and from school.
