Botany Randwick Network Public Speaking Grand Finals

This morning, Mrs O'Donnell, along with our School Captains Havier and Isabel and Vice Captains Lucas and Abigail, travelled to OLSH to support Harrison in the Grand Final of the Network Public Speaking Competition.

Harrison had the challenging task of being the very first speaker of the day. Unfortunately, the microphone needed adjusting, and each time he began his speech, it let out a loud screech, forcing him to pause. While this could have unsettled many, Harrison handled the situation with remarkable composure and good humour. He didn’t let the technical hiccup throw him off instead, he pushed through with confidence and charm, showing great resilience and spirit.

Stage 3

Stage 3 stepped back in time during an engaging excursion to The Rocks, where students explored life in the Australian colonies.  Dressed as convicts and soldiers, they walked the historic laneways, imagining what life was like in early Sydney.  As part of the experience, students wrote letters "home" to their families in England, reflecting on their life in the colony and all they'd seen and learned.

It was a fantastic day filled with hands-on learning, lively storytelling, and a deeper appreciation of Australia’s colonial past.  The students thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves in history and returned with wonderful memories to share.
