Athletics Carnival

  St Anthony’s Athletics Carnival

On Friday, 26th July, students of St Anthony’s Primary School participated in the House Athletics Carnival at Ross Reserve. Students competed in a range of activities including discus, shot put, long jump, triple jump and sprints, as well as an array of tabloid sports. The day began with an opening ceremony which was held by our house leaders before students commenced their events. The day was filled with fun, enjoyment and a competitive and encouraging spirit.

From the moment the day started it was buzzing with excitement as well as a little bit of friendly competition spirit. The St Anthony’s students sprinted, jumped, and threw their way through a series of exciting races and challenges. It was amazing to see such impressive performances and personal bests, but more importantly the sportsmanship and determination of our school community.

A big thank you to all the students that attended and participated in all the exciting events. Thank you to all of the staff who encouraged and guided students in their events, as well as their continuous support throughout the day. Thanks also to those who assisted with setting up and packing up the equipment. Finally, to all the families who supported not just their own children but our amazing school community.

At the end of it all every student is a winner for making this St Anthony’s athletics carnival an unforgettable event. In a tight contest, St Nicholas (red house) won the House Shield to retain their title as athletics champions.

The final standings were as follows:

1st - St Nicholas (836 points)

2nd - St Andrew (831 points)

3rd - St Theresa (697 points)

4th St Mary Mackillop (625 points)
