Principal's Message

Jess Davis

(Principal)

Dear Parents & Guardians,

This week we have moved into the season of Autumn, there is a noticeable change in the air. The cooler mornings, the greener grass and the gentle rhythm of the rain remind us that a new season has begun. After the long, dry and often warm days of summer, the rainfall easier this week, has brought a sense of relief and renewal to our community. The gardens are looking greener, the air feels fresher, and there is a calmness that Autumn so often brings.

While the rain has meant that some of our plans and outdoor activities have needed to be adjusted, we are grateful for the blessing it provides. These changes also give us the opportunity to practice Resilience - one of our PBL values. When plans shift, we adapt, remain positive and find new ways to move forward.

As we continue in this season of Lent, we are reminded that this is also a time of reflection, growth and renewal in our faith journey. Lent invites us to slow down, to pray, to show kindness and compassion, and to think about how we can grow closer to God and to one another. Just as the season of Autumn brings visible change in nature, Lent calls us to renewal within our hearts, as St Francis of De Sales said

"Lent is the Autumn of the spiritual Life

during which we gather fruit to keep us going for the rest of the year."

Reconciliation Parent Evening

A heartfelt thank you to our faith and community leader, Sophie, and to our Grade 3 students and parents for joining us for our recent Reconciliation evening on Tuesday. It was a beautiful night of reflection and preparation.

It was wonderful to see families exploring this Sacrament of Initiation together. Parents had the chance to reflect on how much the experience has changed since they were children; shifting from a focus on formal "confession" to a contemporary celebration of healing, relationship, and God’s endless mercy.

As our students prepare to undertake this special sacrament shortly, we ask our entire community to keep these children in your prayers. May they feel the peace and joy of God's love during this significant step in their faith journey.

Welcome Picnic

What a spectacular evening we had on Wednesday for our Welcome Picnic! Despite a touch of uncertainty with the rain early in the morning, the clouds cleared just in time to provide wonderful weather and the perfect backdrop for our community to gather. It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces and welcome our new families to the Mother Teresa community in such a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.

An event of this scale doesn't happen without an incredible team behind the scenes. I would like to extend a massive thank you to our P&F Committee. For their outstanding organisation of the Sausage Sizzle and  Second-Hand Uniform Sale. My sincere thanks to our P&F for their willingness to give up their time in both our meetings to plan for this event but also on the night  - how lucky we are as a school to have such an active P&F committee! Over the recent Zooper Dooper sales, as well as from the Welcome Picnic, the P&F made just over $1,000 in sales!

I also need to thank our wonderful staff for their support of this evening and their willingness to assist with cooking the BBQ, setting up the games and activities, manning the first aid table and the like.

A special thanks needs to also go to Mr. Leighton for his meticulous coordination of the event. His dedication ensured that everything ran smoothly, everyone remained safe, and all OH&S compliance requirements were met AND that we had awesome music to dance along to as well!
