Teaching and Learning

Term 1
The term has gone quickly and has been a successful one, with students and staff feeling connected and comfortable within their 2026 classes.
Last Tuesday, we held our Secondary Sports Day, which was a huge success for both students and staff, with many competitive personalities on display! A big thank you to all staff who ensured the day ran smoothly and was enjoyable for everyone. In particular, thank you to Riley, Rachael and Jess Mitchell for organising the event.
Concord School is a wonderfully diverse community, and last Friday we celebrated Harmony Day. Each class recognised diversity through activities in their classrooms and by wearing a touch of orange, symbolising social communication, meaningful conversations, freedom of ideas and mutual respect.
This week, our Year 11 students are participating in their city experiences in place of camp, with the final experience da taking place on Wednesday.
Next week, some students will attend the Blackwood Alpine Bike Camp. This was a very successful event last year, where students developed a strong sense of pride in their efforts and independence.
I wish you all a happy and safe break.
Take care,
Flora Nixon
