Principal's Report

Term 1
As Term 1 draws to a close, it has been wonderful to see our school community settle into the rhythm of a new year. This term is always a busy and important one, as students build routines, strengthen relationships, and begin to focus on their learning goals for the year ahead. I would like to thank our students, staff and families for the positive engagement and support shown throughout the term. It has set a strong foundation for the months to come.
There have been a number of highlights across the past few weeks, including Secondary Sports Day, Harmony Day, and our modified Year 11 Camp experience. Each of these opportunities has allowed students to connect, challenge themselves and demonstrate a strong sense of belonging and school pride.
With the final week upon us, we look forward to finishing the term positively before a well-earned break. I hope the upcoming break provides an opportunity for rest and recharge, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back ready to continue the great work in Term 2.
Concord School Council 2026
School Councils play an important role in Victorian government schools. They work in partnership with the school community to develop and uphold a shared vision, helping to guide the school’s direction and support positive outcomes for all students.
During the recent process to establish the Concord School Council for 2026, the number of nominations in the Parent and Staff categories was within the number of positions available, so an election was not required.
At our most recent meeting, we also confirmed our 2026 office bearers. I would like to congratulate the following members on their appointments:
- President – John Qiu
- Vice President – Chris Das
Treasurer – Peter Joint
We do have one vacancy in the Community category. If you are interested in joining our school council, please email me your interest at matthew.didomenica@education.vic.gov.au
Below you will find the membership of our 2026 School Council.

Concord School – Inclusion Statement & Commitment
Concord School is committed to cultivating a safe and inclusive environment for its students, staff and wider community including those who identify as LGBTIQA+.
As a school community we aim to provide our students a safe space to connect and access resources at Pride Group. Concord School is prepared to make the necessary adjustments for gender diverse students to comfortably access their school environment.
Concord School supports all members of the community for who they are and however they identify and works to promote an environment free from discrimination through our policies and positive, inclusive school culture.
We are proud of our diverse community and have zero tolerance for any form of discrimination, including on the basis of sexuality and gender diversity. Concord School understands that the benefits of visible LGBTIQA+ inclusion extends beyond our students and staff. A school that celebrates diversity benefits everyone.
Principal’s Award - Erick 7/8E
Erick thoroughly deserves the Principal's award for the Secondary 7/8 section.
Erick follows all Concord expectations and staff instructions.
It has been wonderful to see how much Erick's confidence has increased since the beginning of the year. He has also been sporting a very positive attitude!
Well done Erick!
Thanks
Matthew Di Domenica
Principal
