Over the summer and this term, we have been updating our library.  This has come about by the generous donation of funds from our P & C and driven by Emma G, Karina T and Mrs Bryant.  We now have beautiful new desks and lounges for the children to sit on.  There are new mats and we have rearranged the bookshelves, making the library more user-friendly for our children.  There is still some more furniture and mats and other additions to come, but I thank everyone involved in this project for their assistance and vision.  The children have certainly been enjoying the new look library.

We have had a great start to the year and a fantastic term.  It is busy in the library every day, with our children continuing to show a love of reading.  Most of our children are borrowing every week and love reading the large variety of books we have.  Our library is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes after the half bell, and we have many students who enjoy reading and drawing or just finding a quiet space to sit and reflect.

Reading books remains an activity that our Roselea children love to do.

If your child/children forget their library books on a Monday, they may bring them back any day of the week and come in second half lunch, so they do not miss out on borrowing.

I hope children enjoy their reading in the holidays.

Premiers Reading Challenge

A reminder to our 3-6 students to remember to continue to enter books they read onto the Premier’s Reading Challenge website.  If children are having difficulty with this, then they can write the names of the books down and I can help them when term 2 begins.

We already have a number of children who have completed the challenge. Congratulations to them.

The teachers and I are reading PRC books to our K-2 children, so there is no need to worry about keeping a list for this.  I will enter the books for all the children as needed.

To log into the Premier’s Reading Challenge website, just Google: PRC NSW or Premiers Reading Challenge and select NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge 2026.

Thank you

Happy Holiday Reading
