Bird Artworks: Woiwurrung Names Revealed

In our last newsletter, we invited you to guess the names of the birds in Woiwurrung language. The student action team shared them during this week’s whole-school assembly too. 

Here they are:

• Bunjil – Eagle
• Waa – Crow (or Raven)
• Bararawarn – Magpie
• Guurng-gurrng – Kookaburra
• Boorimul – Emu

Next time you’re outside, take a moment to notice the birds around you. Which ones can you recognise?
