Senior Rock Band at Yellow Rock

The BMGS Senior Rock Band took part in an afternoon of music at The Old Farm, Yellow Rock, on Sat 24th May. "Music Amongst the Autumn Leaves" is an annual event supported by Springwood Rotary which provides a valuable performance opportunity for Blue Mountains High School musicians and ensembles. It was great to see a variety of ensembles from St Columba's College, Winmalee High and Blaxland High, as well as senior soloists preparing for the HSC. 

The BMGS Rock Band performed songs by Nirvana, Bon Jovi, Redbone and Guns 'n' Roses. Well done to Simeon Gee, Chloe Stenberg, Max Thomas, Paddy Humby and Graciella Olmos (all Year 9).

Sydney Youth Orchestra Winterschool

Sydney Symphony - Young Musicians Workshop (Years 4-12)

Looking ahead to the Sep-Oct school holidays, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra are offering their annual Young Musicians Workshop at Parramatta Marist High School, 1-3 October 2025. This is an opportunity for established music students to get to grips with a masterpiece by taking a deep dive into the finer elements of a major work. The workshop connects students with the talented musicians of the Sydney Symphony and the 2025 Sydney Symphony Fellows in a series of rehearsals, sectionals and masterclasses designed for intermediate and advanced students. Afterwards, a free concert for family and friends allows students to showcase their newly acquired skills.

Application is by video audition.
