YEAR 11
Leading The Way

Head of Year 11
Thank you to all Year 11 students who submitted their 2027 Year 12 Leadership Applications. Applications closed at the end of Week 2, and we now move into the next phase of the selection process.
Over the coming week, applications will be reviewed as part of the shortlisting process. Students will be advised of the outcome in Week 4 and provided with further information about the next stage.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to apply. Your willingness to lead and serve the College community is appreciated, and I wish all applicants the very best as the process continues.
Term 3 Assessment Planners are now available in the MyCE app. They are located in the ‘SCHOOL’ section under ‘DOCUMENTS’. The images below provide a step-by-step guide to help you find the Assessment Planners in the MyCE app.

Following last week's SEL lesson, where Year 11 students reflected on their Semester 1 report cards and set goals for the term ahead, now is an ideal time to review the Term 3 Assessment Planner. Students are encouraged to map out upcoming assessment due dates and plan their workload across the term. Developing effective organisation and time management skills now will help students successfully manage the demands of Year 11 and continue preparing for Year 12.
Last week, Year 11 Certificate II in Health Support Services and General Health students attended the P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth) Program at the Cairns Base Hospital.
The immersive program provided students with a firsthand insight into the impact of trauma and the importance of making informed decisions. It was a valuable learning experience that reinforced key health concepts explored in the classroom while encouraging students to reflect on the consequences of risk-taking behaviours.
Our students represented the College with pride, demonstrating maturity, respect and engagement throughout the day.

The ADF in Cairns has opened applications for work experience opportunities for the remainder of 2026. Please refer to the the Defence Work Experience Program website and the table below for further details. Students must be 15 years of age or older to apply.
