Prep C

Prep students had a wonderful time during the exciting Flying Bookworm incursion this week. Connected to our Term 3 Inquiry question, "How do we create and share our stories?", students enjoyed interactive storytelling as familiar stories were brought to life through expressive voices, movement, and drama. 

Throughout the performance, students listened carefully and explored the important messages in the storybooks The Little Red Hen, The Little Engine That Could, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. They practised using their imagination, sharing ideas, and thinking about themes such as cooperation, resilience, friendship, and problem-solving. 

The Little Red Hen 

Students were exploring the importance of helping others, working together, and taking responsibility. 

Anika: I like this story, and the little hen is working hard to plant the seeds. 

Marcus: We need to help our friends. 

Saher: I like the red hen cutting the wheat. 

Teyana: It was so much fun when the dogs were running around. 

Arjo: I like that the red hen is very independent and does things by herself. 

The Little Engine That Could 

Students followed the determined little engine on its journey, discovering the importance of resilience, asking for help and believing in yourself.  

Jerome: The blue train is really nice to others, I like him! 

Casper: I like the trains work together. 

Jayson: I was on the stage to help the red train get off the road. 

The Three Billy Goats Gruff 

Students enjoyed watching the three billy goats work together to safely reach the meadow and enjoy the fresh grass. 

Aarohi: They all are helping each other in the books.  

Pratishta: I think they are good friends because they all are helping and working together.  

Throughout the incursion, students remained engaged, curious, and excited to share their ideas. The experience encouraged imagination, strengthened oral language skills, and built confidence as students explored how stories can be created, performed, and shared with others. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as our Prep students became part of the storytelling experience.
