School Saving Bonus (SSB) and Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) Credits

I wanted to provide some clarification for families who still have School Saving Bonus (SSB) funds remaining from the $400 allocation provided in 2024, or who receive Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) support. These credits can be used to help cover the cost of excursions, incursions, camps and other eligible school activities.

Before an activity is made available to families and communicated through Compass, all family credits are checked. Where applicable, the cost of the activity is then adjusted to reflect any available SSB or CSEF credit.

As a result, you may notice that the amount you are asked to pay is less than the advertised cost of the activity, or that there is no cost to you at all. This simply means that available credits have been applied to the activity on your behalf. Once your available credits have been fully used, you will be required to pay the advertised cost of future activities.

If your child is moving to another Victorian Government school at the end of the year, any remaining eligible credit will be transferred to their new school for you to use there.

If you have any questions regarding your SSB or CSEF credits, please do not hesitate to contact Julie Milward via email at julie.milward@education.vic.gov.au, or speak with Julie or any member of our Office team. We are very happy to answer any questions you may have.
