Sustainability - Ms Belinda

Sustainability News

Yr 5/6  have been building on their understandings with our Lunchbox Makeover Challenge. Working in teams, students were given different real-life family situations to solve – including busy mornings, limited budgets, food allergies and children who prefer packaged snacks. Their challenge was to find a realistic way to reduce just one piece of disposable packaging. This encouraged students to think creatively and empathetically about sustainability. We discovered that sustainability isn't about being perfect; it is about finding small, achievable ways to make a difference.

A fantastic FREE all ages Sustainability event coming up soon is the Yarra Riverkeepers’ Festival. Many of the events are held during the school holidays. Events include their Junior Rangers program for children to get involved in nature walks, games, challenges and cultural learning activities. They will discover some of the ways Bunurong people care for Country and how we can all play a part in looking after the environment.

Trinity Annual Broccoli Festival 🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦

We are so looking forward to our upcoming Broccoli Festival in Week 10! Students will harvest, cook and enjoy our delicious broccoli and bok choy, cooked in traditional Italian Ms Sally style!

At Trinity, we believe it is a vital part of education for students to see the journey from sowing the seeds, caring for the plants, harvesting and then preparation and finally eating our delicious labours

Trinity Trash Transformers - by Lenora, Thao, Hoyoung, Abuk and Solomon

Hopefully you are all collecting your bottles and cans that have the 10 cent recycling symbol. Every week, we come around and collect any bottles/cans you have collected.

We will keep a tally of how many each grade has collected. Later in the term we will announce the end of term winning class.

They will get to keep the TTT trophy until the new winners are announced. Make sure you don’t squash the containers. The machine needs to be able to read the label.

Please keep collecting! Thank you!

Thanks everyone for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!
